Recent Work

"The Night The Trees Whispered"

The Night The Trees Whispered is an original piece of choreography by Evan. This work, choreographed for Sparrow Dance Company’s Flora & Fauna, features movement motifs directly inspired from tree’s ability to communicate with each other & the physical characteristics of trees. Dancers in this piece collaborated on choreography with guided movement explorations and partner work.

"Hope For Something"

Hope for Something was an original work set on the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater’s dance company. The piece is rooted in acknowledging the challenges that the previous year presented and the commitment to make the next year one where we live more authentically.

This group of dancers, from all backgrounds of dance, met for 5 rehearsals and performed this work in the Emerging Choreographers Concert. This piece was chosen to close the student ran show.

As a choreographer, it was a joy to see these young adults step outside their comfort zones to really push the piece to greater heights.

"Who Dunnit"

An original piece collaboratively choreographed for Sparrow Dance Company‘s Show “Razzle Dazzle”, “Who Dunnit” is a murder mystery based around five main characters. Razzle Dazzle premiered in July 2018 in 3 cities for one weekend.

A company  member of Sparrow Dance Co, since 2012 Evan was featured as a soloist and collaborated with Helaina Callahan, Sparrow’s artistic director, to choreograph a duet for the 45 minute piece.

"Camp S.O.A.R"

Camp Soar is a Special Outdoor Adaptive Recreations camp. Their program pairs special needs children with a dedicated one-to-one volunteer counselor for week-long overnight camp.

Evan and Sparrow Dance Company are invited as guest entertainment for the first night of camp to lead campers in an unforgettable dance experience. Campers learn a full dance in a comprehensive style with warmp, dance activities, games, locomotor skills and improvisation.

By the end of the hour and a half long dance session the campers have a finished dance and shared their own artistic expression with the each other. Campers showcase their dance at the end of the week as a part of their talent show production for their parents.
